Troops nab two terror suspects in Kogi State patrol

Troops of 12 Brigade, alongside local vigilantes, have arrested two suspected terrorists during a patrol in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Security expert Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a post on X, noting the operation took place around 9:00 a.m. on May 19.

The troops conducted a coordinated sweep along the Eganyi–Atabatam–Epiri–Ebatoto–Idebe axis following sustained surveillance in the area.

This operation is part of ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities and restore security along vulnerable routes.

During the sweep, authorities recovered one motorcycle, one machete, and one mobile phone from the apprehended suspects.

“The suspects and recovered items were subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and necessary action,” Makama said.

He added that, “The patrol formed part of continued operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks operating within Kogi State and its surrounding axis.”
