Minister Wike accuses Kwara and Imo governors of political betrayal

Federal Capital Territory, FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike has publicly accused Imo and Kwara State Governors Hope Uzodinma and Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of actively working against his political interests.

In a media chat in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, the former Rivers State governor expressed deep disappointment over what he described as a total lack of reciprocity from both leaders.

Wike singled out Governor Abdulrazaq of Kwara State as a key figure leading opposition efforts against him behind the scenes.

Addressing Abdulrazaq’s actions, Wike stated: “Take for example, Kwara, he has been the one championing this campaign against me everywhere.”

The minister revealed that he chose not to remain silent about the situation, choosing instead to address the matter head-on: “Yes, I have confronted him too. I don’t talk about what I cannot defend,” Wike said.

Turning his attention to the South-East, the minister highlighted a similarly fractured relationship with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma.

Wike lamented that despite standing by Uzodinma in the past, the Imo governor has failed to offer mutual backing: “Governor Hope, he knows the support I give to him,” the minister lamented.

The sharp public rebuke underscores growing tensions and widening political rifts within the top ranks of the nation’s political leadership.
