Inter Lagos head coach Sakiru Giwa has stepped down from his position at the club.
The development was announced in a statement issued by the Lagos-based club on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
Giwa was appointed by Inter Lagos and played a key role in guiding the club to secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.
However, Inter Lagos have endured a difficult start to their maiden Euromatch NPFL campaign, struggling to secure positive results in their opening matches.
The club have recorded one win, five defeats and one draw in their opening eight matches, leaving them at the bottom of the league table with two points.
Their struggles have been compounded by a disciplinary sanction, with the club deducted three points and three goals following misconduct by their officials.
Giwa’s departure comes as Inter Lagos seek to turn their fortunes around and improve their position in the NPFL standings.
