Sporting Lagos head coach Jeffrey Buter pointed to his mid-game tactical switch as the key to their 3-2 victory at Plateau United.
The Tech Boys delivered a resilient performance at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday to keep their strong momentum going.
The thrilling win marked their third away victory in the Nigeria Premier Football League this season.
It also extended their impressive unbeaten run to six straight league matches.
Buter explained that tweaking his system during the match changed everything for his side.
“We switched our press to a 4-5-1, which limited their wingers and fullbacks from having time and space,” Buter told reporters.
“I think we played a very good second half,” he added.
“We dominated the game, found the early equaliser and went on to finish the game,” the manager said.
The result moves Sporting Lagos within two points of league leaders Rivers United and second-placed Rangers International.
