Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has charged political actors and residents across Osun State to uphold peace and respect the democratic choices of voters in the upcoming governorship election.
Taking to his X handle on Friday, the musician explicitly warned against political violence, intimidation, and any deliberate actions that could threaten state security during the campaign period.
“Let us reject violence, intimidation, provocation, and every act capable of disrupting the peace of our communities. Your vote is your voice, and your choice deserves to be respected,” Davido stated in his post.
Urging the electorate to showcase civic responsibility and protect peaceful coexistence, the singer forcefully added, “LET THE OSUN PPLE DECIDE! FREE AND FAIR! VOTE NOT FIGHT!”
Demonstrating strong family ties, the nephew of Governor Ademola Adeleke openly backed the governor’s re-election campaign, posting, “ACCORD IS THE PARTY! ADEMOLA ADELEKE IS THE CHOICE!”
This public appeal comes at a critical moment as political parties and their major flagbearers step up aggressive mobilization efforts across the state.
The pop star had previously reached out directly to key contestants, including Governor Adeleke and APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, demanding that all sides honor the final verdict of the ballot box.
By calling for an unhindered democratic process, Davido emphasized that the future leadership of the state must ultimately rest on the uncoerced decision of Osun voters.
