Abia Warriors Chairman, John Obuh, has called on chairmen of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clubs to work together in shaping the future of the league.
Obuh made the appeal while speaking with journalists during the 2025/26 NPFL Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Carlton Gate Xclusive Hotel, Ibadan, on Friday, August 7.
According to him, the AGM serves as the foundation for every football competition, providing stakeholders with the opportunity to discuss key issues and chart a positive course for the new season.
Reflecting on Abia Warriors’ performance last season, Obuh said the club has learned valuable lessons after narrowly missing out on a continental ticket despite recording six away victories during the 2025/26 NPFL campaign.
He also noted that he has found football management easier than coaching, although his coaching background has greatly helped him in his current role.
“I manage the team and find it easy in football management. We have learnt our lesson after missing out on the continent,” Obuh said.
Abia Warriors will begin their 2026/27 NPFL campaign against Kun Khalifat in their opening fixture of the new season.
