Ikorodu City forward Joseph Arumala has emerged as the leading scorer in the Nigeria Premier Football League this season.
Arumala found the net in Ikorodu City’s emphatic 3–0 victory over Kano Pillars at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Sunday.
The goal took the former Golden Eaglets striker’s tally to 12 for the campaign.
His latest strike moves him ahead of Godwin Obaje of Rangers International FC and Chukwuemeka Obioma of Abia Warriors, who both have 11 goals each.
A group of four players are close behind on 10 goals apiece, including Victor Mbaoma of Remo Stars and Chidera Michael of Enyimba FC.
Others in that bracket are Uche Collins of Katsina United and Daddy Abdulrahman of El-Kanemi Warriors.
With four matchdays left in the NPFL season, the race for the golden boot remains wide open.
Ikorodu City will next face Abia Warriors in their upcoming fixture.
