Rivers United technical adviser George Finidi has expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance against Plateau United.
The Port Harcourt side climbed back to the top of the table after a 1-0 win over Plateau United on Sunday.
The matchday 34 encounter was played at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
Wisdom Samuel scored the decisive goal in the 10th minute after being set up by Taofeek Otaniyi.
Finidi described the victory as comfortable despite the slim scoreline.
“We didn’t suffer much, it was a game that we controlled properly, not too much stress at the back. We didn’t create much too,” he said.
The former international noted that his team delivered a solid overall display.
“If you look at the overall performance of the team, it was a good one. We are quite happy with the performance, and the victory,” he added.
Rivers United maintained control for most of the game to secure all three points.
They will now turn their attention to their next fixture against Kano Pillars this weekend.
