President of Ghana Football Association, GFA, Kurt Okraku, has expressed confidence ahead of the Black Stars’ crucial group gtage encounter against England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking with journalists on Saturday, Okraku said he remains optimistic about Ghana’s chances and is not overly concerned about the highly anticipated fixture.
The GFA president described the match as a “derby” and expressed belief that the Black Stars would achieve a positive result against the Three Lions.

” I’m not thinking too much about the game against England. For me, Ghana against England is a derby like Ghana v Nigeria or Hearts of Oak v Kotoko. I’m positive about the outcome.” Okraku stated.
Ghana began their World Cup campaign on a winning note, edging Panama 1-0 in their opening group match.
England, on the other hand, recorded an impressive 4-2 victory over Croatia in their first game of the tournament.
The Group Stage clash between Ghana and England is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 9:00 p.m.
