History at the City Ground: Aina and Forest march toward Europa League glory

Ola Aina has shared his pride and relief following Nottingham Forest’s hard-fought victory over FC Porto in the UEFA Europa League.

The Tricky Trees secured their place in the semi-finals after a tense 1-0 win at home on Thursday night.

Having fought through a grueling quarter-final tie, Vitor Pereira’s side managed to edge out the visitors 2-1 on aggregate.

The decisive moment came early in the 12th minute when Morgan Gibbs-White fired home what would be the winning goal.

Despite Porto playing with ten men following Jan Bednarek’s early red card, the match remained a stressful affair for the Forest faithful.

Aina admitted to Forest TV that the team made things difficult for themselves, though he remains overjoyed with the final result.

The journey continues for Forest as they prepare for a massive all-English semi-final showdown against Aston Villa.
