The Super Eagles of Nigeria held their first training session on Tuesday night as preparations intensified for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON qualifying Matchday 1 clash against Madagascar slated for Friday, Ribsmedia reports.
The session took place at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, with 23 players participating.
The opening 15 minutes of the training session was made available to members of the media and the public.
Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi, goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali and winger Samuel Chukwueze arrived in camp a few hours before the team commenced training.
Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is expected to join the squad at the team’s base, Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Ikot Ekpene, on Wednesday.
The Super Eagles will return to the training ground on Wednesday as they continue preparations for Friday’s encounter with the Barea of Madagascar.
