The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is firing back at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming the political giant is strangely obsessed with undermining a smaller rival.
Despite the APC’s sweeping control of the landscape, ADC National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi suggests the ruling party is acting out of unprovoked fear.
“We in the ADC are calm because we know what we are doing, but they, the APC, are the ones; after having about 34 governors in their camp and almost all the National Assembly, they are still panicking,” Abdullahi remarked during an appearance on Channels Television.
The party spokesperson alleged that the APC is secretly bankrolling legal challenges to destabilize their internal operations.
“They can’t have a conversation without talking about the ADC… those who can barely afford to feed are now hiring Senior Advocates of Nigeria, and we say it just doesn’t add up,” he noted regarding the suspicious funding of court cases.
Beyond the courtroom drama, Abdullahi accused the ruling power of spreading narratives that the ADC is “comatose” to incite a mutiny among its rank and file.
Ending on a defiant note, he assured aspiring candidates that the party remains a secure harbor, stating, “It’s not legally and politically dangerous for anyone to run on the platform of the ADC.”
