Nollywood actor Jide Awobona has opened up about his concerns regarding kissing scenes in movies, citing health risks and an unpleasant experience with a colleague on set.
Speaking during an interview with Yanga FM, the actor recalled having to kiss an unnamed actress who had bad breath, describing the experience as uncomfortable.
Awobona also raised concerns about the lack of proper medical checks for actors before intimate scenes, saying he worries about the possibility of contracting diseases.
Responding in Pidgin English when asked if he kisses in movies, he said:
“Yes, I have done it.
But if you get that kind funny odor, I go japa oo. I no fit kiss you.”
When asked if he had acted with someone who had bad breath, he replied:
“Yes, I don act with somebody wey get mouth odor. And I go one place go wash my mouth. And the person con see me.”
He added:
“I just dey pray make person no go contact something because I don tire.”
Awobona’s comments have sparked conversations about hygiene and health precautions during the filming of intimate scenes in Nollywood.
