Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has announced the burial arrangements for her late mother, Emily Faye Adewale, who passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026, after a prolonged illness.
The actress, who broke the sad news on Monday via her verified Instagram page, shared a funeral poster on Wednesday with the inscription “In Loving Memory – Emily Faye Adewale – Forever in our hearts.”
According to the flyer, the funeral service will be held today, Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 12:00 Noon at Advantage Funeral Home, Hardy Chapel, 10907 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272, United States. 6408
Adunni Ade, born Adunni Adewale in Queens, New York to a Yoruba father and German-Irish mother, described her mother’s passing as submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
In her emotional tribute, she wrote:
”Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return. With a heavy heart and submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, who returned to her Creator after a long battle with illness.”
She prayed: “Ya Allah, forgive her shortcomings, have mercy upon her, make her grave spacious and filled with light, and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus. Grant us sabr and strength as we navigate this painful loss.”
She added: “Mum, I love you. May Allah grant you eternal peace and reunite us in Jannah. Ameen.” 6408
Her mother is survived by children, grandchildren, sisters and loved ones.
Colleagues including Yemi Solade, Sophie Alakija, Eso Dike and Rotimi Salami have flooded her page with condolence messages since the announcement.
The burial today in Louisville, Kentucky will be a private family service.
