Plateau United technical adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, has urged caution and composure following his side’s dominant victory against Kano Pillars.
The Peace Boys delivered a resounding 4-0 thrashing to Daniel Ogunmodede’s squad in Sunday’s clash at the New Jos Stadium.
The crushing loss marked Kano Pillars’ very first defeat in the current Nigeria Premier Football League season.
Paul Samson, Ekundayo Ojo, Samuel Ayanrinde, and Nenrot Silas all found the net to seal the commanding home win.
Despite the impressive scoreline, Ogunbote cautioned his players against getting carried away by the momentum.
“The league is a marathon, we won’t allow it to get into our heads . This is just one out of the 38 matches we are going to play this season,” Ogunbote told reporters after the match.
“But it is a good one for us, but I can assure that the supporters too will be happy at the end of the season.”
Plateau United will look to maintain their momentum when they host Sporting Lagos in their upcoming league fixture.
