Tragic accident claims life of Kogi Health College graduate

A young man named Ismail AbdulKarim was crushed to death by a vehicle in the Felele area of Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

The victim had just completed his final examinations at the Community Health Department of the Kogi State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Idah.

An eyewitness explained that the incident occurred on Friday afternoon opposite the Kogi State Polytechnic when AbdulKarim allegedly tried to avoid some wheelbarrow pushers.

Unfortunately, AbdulKarim fell under a fast-moving oncoming trailer, sustaining a fatal head injury.

The deceased was traveling to visit relatives in Lokoja shortly after arriving from Idah where he finished his schooling.

A mourning colleague said: “After writing your final exams and heading to see your people, your life was cut short.”

The National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS) described AbdulKarim’s death as heartbreaking and painful to the entire student community.

Hassan Mustapha, the local NAKOSS President, stated that the deceased was a dedicated, humble, and promising young man.

Kogi Sector Commander of the FRSC, Lawal Fagge, confirmed the accident involved a truck with registration number KMC 23 YQ and stated that the corpse was taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja.
