2027: Kenneth Okonkwo warns against Peter Obi leaving ADC

Veteran Nollywood actor and politician Kenneth Okonkwo has said any move by Peter Obi to leave the African Democratic Congress (ADC) would suggest he is working for President Bola Tinubu.

Okonkwo made the remark during an interview on Channels Television while addressing speculation about Obi’s future in the party.

He said any aspirant who exits the ADC amid its internal challenges should be seen as acting against the party’s collective interest.

“Anybody that goes out of the coalition is compromised and is working for Tinubu, whoever that person is,” Okonkwo stated.

Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, is among top contenders for the ADC ticket alongside Atiku Abubakar and Chibuike Amaechi.

Okonkwo questioned the rationale behind any candidate leaving the coalition, insisting that unity is critical given the party’s current struggles.

Meanwhile, Atiku has pledged to support whoever emerges as the ADC’s presidential candidate through consensus or primaries, stressing the need for party cohesion.
