The Kwara State Government is set to commission its Garment Factory on Wednesday, with Vice President Kashim Shettima expected to perform the commissioning ceremony.
The facility, described as one of the largest and most technologically advanced garment manufacturing factories in West Africa, is expected to create significant employment opportunities for residents of the state.
Reports indicate that the factory has the capacity to employ more than 4,000 workers when operating at full capacity, while over 500 staff members have already been engaged for its official take-off phase.
The garment factory is among the projects initiated by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration as part of efforts to boost the state’s internally generated revenue, create employment opportunities, particularly for women and young people, and accelerate socioeconomic development.
The commissioning is expected to mark a significant milestone in the state government’s industrialisation and job-creation drive.
