Super Eagles midfielder, Tochukwu Nnadi has declared that Nigeria is in London to win the Unity Cup.
Nnadi made this known while speaking with the Super Eagles media team, monitored by Ribsmedia on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
The midfielder said the team performed well against Zimbabwe despite having just three training sessions together, noting that the players quickly built understanding and connection within the squad.
“The team did quite good, We had three training sessions; it’s difficult, but we tried to understand each other as quickly as we can,” he said.
Nnadi also reflected on Nigeria’s disappointment at the last Africa Cup of Nations, expressing confidence that the team will return stronger and compete for future titles.
“We had a great competition, but in the end we didn’t win. So this time, we have to fight and see if we can win the AFCON and hopefully win many trophies for the Nigeria national team,” he added.
Nigeria defeated Zimbabwe 2-0 on Tuesday to qualify for the final of this year’s Unity Cup, with debutant Millwall winger Femi Azeez scoring both goals.
The Super Eagles will now turn their attention to defending the trophy they won last year when they face Jamaica in the final on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at The Valley, home ground of Charlton Athletic.
