Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested the self-acclaimed Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, in Osun State.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Iniedu, confirmed the arrest, stating that Adeyemi was apprehended without incident by operatives of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) following intelligence-led operations.
He has since been taken into police custody for further interrogation.
According to the police, Adeyemi had been on the radar of security agencies for weeks over allegations surrounding the activities of the purported federal agency.
Investigators had earlier raided his family residence and questioned relatives while tracking his whereabouts.
The arrest came shortly after Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja issued a warrant for Adeyemi’s arrest.
Adeyemi was scheduled to be arraigned on an eight-count charge (FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025) bordering on alleged forgery, fraud, and impersonation.
Although his lawyer, Mr. Genesis Francis, appeared in court on his behalf, the defendant failed to appear for the proceedings.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing, while Adeyemi is expected to face the charges before the Federal High Court.
