Benue rescues stranded students from Jos unrest

UNIJOS students shut down campus over week-long blackout

 

The Benue State Government has deployed a massive fleet of buses to evacuate its students caught in the ongoing unrest in Jos.

Following directives from Governor Hyacinth Alia, the operation prioritizes the safety and welfare of indigenes studying outside the state.

Benue Links Manager, Comrade Alexander Fanafa, confirmed that over 30 buses were dispatched on Thursday as part of a phased rescue mission.

More vehicles are currently being sent to the city to ensure every stranded student is brought home securely.

Evacuated students expressed deep relief and gratitude, describing the state’s intervention as a timely lifeline amid the chaos.

Government officials continue to monitor the situation closely to guarantee a smooth and successful completion of the evacuation.
