Apostle Joshua Aghasedo of Powerline Church has declared that using sex toys within a marriage is not a sin.
Comparing these devices to modern conveniences like cars and phones, the clergyman framed them as practical tools designed to assist users.
He told his congregation, “Is using a sex toy a sin? Is driving a car a sin? A car to drive you from here to Dallas, is it a sin? Using the phone, is it a sin?”
Though he noted he has never personally used one, Aghasedo argued that technology can ease the physical demands on a couple.
“It’s an equipment. It can help you do the job to 90%, and you finish the remaining 10%. I’m just being real. It can help you,” he stated.
The pastor emphasized that his endorsement applies strictly to wedded partners looking to strengthen their union.
Recalling a time he recommended one to prevent infidelity, he noted, “I have suggested sex toy to a couple before when I look at all the surrounding circumstances, so that somebody won’t go out and other things would follow.”
He drew a firm boundary against solo use, warning that operating these items outside of marriage crosses into forbidden territory.
“Now, if you engage it on your own, it’s called masturbation, and another word for masturbation is fornication. You get it? If you don’t get it, forget about it. It’s within the marital context. Alright?” he concluded.
