Traditional ruler, Oba Kehinde Falodun, the Alagamọ of Agamọ community in Ondo State, has been shot dead by gunmen.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at around 7:10 p.m. in Akure North Local Government Area.
According to the police, six armed men stormed the traditional ruler’s residence, forcibly took him away, and later found him with gunshot wounds.
He was confirmed dead at the scene.
“The victim was later found a few metres away with gunshot wounds. He was confirmed dead at the scene,” the police statement read.
The police have launched an investigation and are working with local security outfits to apprehend the perpetrators. Efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the suspects.
“Efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects. Monitoring and surveillance activities have been intensified across the area to ensure the safety of residents and prevent further breakdown of law and order,” the police assured.
