Ogun So-Safe Corps apprehend 42-year-old farmer for alleged defilement of minor

Officers of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popular as the So-Safe Corps, have arrested 42-year-old farmer Ganiu Agbajo for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl in Ipokia Local Government Area.

The arrest was confirmed in an official statement released on Thursday by the State Commander, Commander Soji Ganzallo, through the agency’s Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi.

According to the official account, local operatives responded to a distress report on September 7, 2026, after residents spotted the young victim weeping continuously on her way home.

An eyewitness reported that when the mother confronted her distressed daughter, the minor revealed that “she was raped by a man.”

The distraught mother immediately raised the alarm, prompting vigilant community members to report the situation directly to the local security corps.

Acting swiftly on the tip-off, corps operatives raided the suspect’s residence at Hassan Compound, Igbokulu, Ita-Egbe, Ipokia, and took him into custody.

During preliminary questioning, Agbajo reportedly confessed to the crime, admitting he committed the assault on his farmland located at Ojugo, Ita-Egbe.

Reiterating the importance of community vigilance, Commander Ganzallo commended the residents for their prompt action and urged members of the public to “report all unlawful and suspicious acts to the agency for appropriate action.”

The agency confirmed that the suspect has now been handed over to relevant law enforcement authorities for further detailed investigation and prosecution.
