“No chance against a strong and physical Nigeria side”, Iran coach reacts after friendly defeat

Head Coach of Iran national football team, Amir Ghalenoei has admitted that the Super Eagles were too strong for his side in their Friday’s international friendly encounter.

Eric Chelle’s men had the better of Team Melli with a 2-1 in the tune up game decided in Antalya, Turkey.

Moses Simon, and Akor Adams scored in both halves for the Super Eagles while Mehdi Taremi scored Iran’s only goal in the second half.

Ghalenoei admitted that the game will put his side in proper shape ahead of the World Cup.

“I think this was a very useful preparation game, especially since we were able to implement Plan B in defence against a strong and physical team like Nigeria,” Ghalenoei told Tasnim News Agency after the game.

Iran will continue with their preparatory games with another friendly against Costa Rica while Nigeria will be taking on Jordan.

Both games are billed to take place next Tuesday in Turkey.
