The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has uncovered another alleged fake government agency operating within the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF.
ICPC Chairman, Musa Aliyu, disclosed this on Friday, identifying one Prince George Buchi Nwabueze as the alleged promoter of the agency, which operates under the name National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office.
According to Aliyu, the agency had unlawfully been allocated office space within the premises of the SGF’s office.
The latest discovery followed investigations into the previously uncovered fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, PFIPC, which led to the discovery of two additional agencies.
Following the development, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ordered the arrest of Nwabueze and the suspension of three Permanent Secretaries in the SGF’s office: M.S. Danjuma, Nadungu Gagare and Richard P. Pheelangwah.
The President also directed a forensic audit of government processes, while the ICPC said investigations into the matter are ongoing.
