Technical Adviser of Rivers United, George Finidi, believes his current squad possesses significantly higher quality than last season’s team.
The gaffer expressed regret that this superior quality failed to show during their early exit from the CAF Champions League.
However, he noted that the players are now successfully demonstrating their true potential in domestic competition.
The Pride of Rivers have maintained an impressive undefeated streak in the Nigeria Premier Football League this season.
They recently asserted their dominance by delivering a resounding 5-0 defeat to Kun Khalifat FC in Port Harcourt.
Reflecting on the team’s composition, Finidi praised their recent transfer market strategy and squad depth.
“The players that we signed this season are much better than last season, the quality in the squad is much better,” Finidi told Rivers United’s media.
“It was unfortunate that we couldn’t convert those chances and we were eliminated in the CAF Champions League,” he lamented regarding their continental exit.
“We are begining to get it right, I’m confident on the qualities of the players and hope they continue this way,” he concluded.
