Panic swept through Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State after a suspected bomb explosion struck on Monday.
Early reports suggest that several people may have lost their lives, though the exact number remains unclear.
Residents said the blast occurred suddenly, leaving behind scenes of destruction and confusion.
No group has come forward to claim responsibility for the attack. However, locals fear the explosion may be linked to insurgent activities in the area.
Many in the community suspect that an improvised explosive device could have been used.
The suspicion has heightened anxiety among residents who say they are still recovering from a recent attack. Fear and uncertainty now hang heavily over the town.
Just last month, Woro and nearby Nuku community were attacked by suspected terrorists where at least 75 people were reportedly killed, with several homes set ablaze during the assault. The memory of that tragedy is still fresh in the minds of residents.
In response to the earlier attack, President Bola Tinubu ordered the deployment of an army battalion to the affected area. The move was aimed at strengthening security and restoring calm. It is, however, unclear if the presence of troops has been reinforced after the latest incident.

Efforts to reach the State Police Public Relations Officer, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, were unsuccessful. Residents are now calling for urgent action to prevent further attacks.
