Eight persons have been confirmed dead following a deadly explosion along Luma Road in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
The incident occurred on Monday when suspected terrorists detonated an improvised explosive device that hit a moving vehicle.
Reports indicate that the blast caused severe damage, leaving victims with little chance of survival.
In addition to the attack, the assailants reportedly destroyed a major bridge linking Luma, Babanna and Agwara communities.
The damaged bridge is a critical route for residents, especially traders and commuters heading to the Babanna border market, which holds every Monday.
The incident comes shortly after a similar explosion was reported in Woro, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, where several people were also feared dead.
