The General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club, Ahmed Musa MON, OON, has commended the management, staff, players and supporters of the club for retaining their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) status following the conclusion of the 2025/2026 season.
In a statement posted on his official X handle on Sunday, May 24, 2026, the former Super Eagles captain acknowledged the difficult campaign but praised the resilience and determination shown by the team throughout the season.
“Despite our slow and unfamiliar start to the campaign, our darling club, Kano Pillars FC, showed resilience, character and determination to retain its NPFL status for another season,” he stated.
Ahmed Musa noted that the achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support, prayers and encouragement from the people of Kano and football lovers across the country.
He also appreciated the Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for its continuous support and commitment to football development in the state.
Musa further thanked the club’s front jersey sponsors, RFI Hausa, for supporting the vision and identity of Kano Pillars.
“I wish to specially appreciate our main sponsors, the Kano State Government under the able leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for the continuous support and commitment towards the growth and development of football in our dear state.
We are equally grateful to our front jersey sponsors, RFI Hausa, for believing in the vision and identity of this great club,” he added.
The former Leicester City forward also extended appreciation to the Kano State Football Association, supporters’ groups, stakeholders, media partners and the entire football community for standing by the club throughout the season.
Ahmed Musa lauded the players and technical crew for their sacrifice, commitment and fighting spirit despite the challenges faced during the campaign, stressing that their determination ensured Kano Pillars remained in the top flight.
Looking ahead to the 2026/2027 season, Musa assured supporters that a stronger and more competitive Kano Pillars side would emerge under his leadership.
“As we look ahead to the 2026/2027 season, I want to assure our supporters that a different and stronger Kano Pillars will emerge under my leadership.
We will continue to do everything humanly possible to restore and propel the status of Kano Pillars to where it truly belongs among the elite clubs in Africa,” he said.
Kano Pillars ended the 2025/2026 NPFL season in 15th position with 48 points after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Plateau United in their final game of the campaign.
