Troops arrest two suspected human organ traffickers in Benue

Troops of Sector 1, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have arrested two suspected human organ traffickers during an operation in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.

The development was disclosed on Tuesday by security analyst Zagazola Makama in a post on X, citing reliable security sources.

According to the report, the suspects were arrested on July 13 in Atongo community following an intelligence-led operation carried out by troops deployed in the area.

Security sources said the two suspects are believed to be involved in human organ trafficking activities.

The suspects have since been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The arrest is part of ongoing efforts by Operation Whirl Stroke to dismantle criminal networks and combat violent crimes across Benue State and other parts of Nigeria’s North-Central region.
