Zazu crooner Portable and Charles Okocha are officially set for a high-stakes boxing rematch on July 31 following a wild press conference in Lagos.
The pre-fight event for Chaos in the Ring 4 descended into absolute bedlam on Tuesday at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Ikeja.
Balmoral Group Promotions CEO Ezekiel Adamu confirmed that Okocha legally triggered a rematch clause following his unanimous decision loss to Portable in their first encounter.
“They fought before. Charles wants a rematch. He activated a rematch clause. So, we expected that, and we will make it happen,” Adamu said.
True to his chaotic reputation, Portable immediately took over the stage upon arrival and issued a brutal warning to his rival.
“You that I have beaten before, I will break your bones. Fight is coming,” Portable threatened.
Okocha was quick to fire back, dismissing their previous bout and promising a definitive knockout this time around.
“Let me tell you something, I will kill you in the ring. I am fearless… Everyone knows the first one was not a real fight, but this time it is the real deal,” Okocha responded.
The verbal war quickly turned violent as flying soda cans and chairs triggered a massive melee between both camps before security intervened.
