Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing to enter the race for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen despite previous unsuccessful attempts by other European clubs.
Having already emerged as one of Europe’s biggest spenders this summer, the north London club have identified the Nigerian international as the missing piece in their attack.
Spurs have invested over £230m in new talent including Sandro Tonali, Matheus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke, but hierarchy remains eager to add further goalscoring power before the transfer deadline.
According to CaughtOffside, Tottenham are prepared to offer £65m for Osimhen, though that figure may fall short given his importance, €75m original fee, and contract running through 2029.
The Turkish club currently values their star player at €150m, while Osimhen has previously maintained that he will only leave if Galatasaray wants him to move.
Reports indicate that Spurs have now received “sporting approval” to “begin formal negotiations” for the Nigerian forward.
Sources close to the deal also believe that reaching an agreement on personal terms “would not create a major obstacle” in closing the transfer.
