Nigeria storm into CAVB U-18 African Volleyball final with dominant run Nigeria's boys' team has booked a place in the final of the 2026 CAVB U18 African Nations Volleyball Championship in Alexandria, Egypt, after extending an outstanding unbeaten run with a commanding 3-0 victory over Cameroon in the semi-finals. The Nigerian youngsters were in complete control of the last-four encounter, sweeping aside the Central Africans 25-16, 25-20, 25-19 to underline their status as one of the tournament's strongest teams. The emphatic victory capped another impressive display from a side that has not only remained unbeaten throughout the competition but has also dropped just one set on the road to the championship match. Nigeria's journey to the final began with a flawless campaign in Group A, where they finished top after recording three consecutive victories. They opened with a convincing 3-0 win over Morocco before overcoming host nation Egypt 3-1 in a highly competitive contest. They rounded off the group stage with another straight-sets triumph, defeating Burundi 3-0. The momentum continued into the knockout rounds as Nigeria comfortably dispatched Libya 3-0 in the quarter-finals before producing another dominant performance against Cameroon in the semi-finals. The victory over Cameroon showcased Nigeria's strength in every department, with the team combining powerful attacking play, disciplined defending and consistent serving to overwhelm their opponents in straight sets. Having won five consecutive matches, including four without conceding a set, Nigeria now stands one victory away from being crowned African U18 champions. Their remarkable run has highlighted the country's growing strength in youth volleyball and offers further evidence of the promising talent emerging within the national development programme. Nigeria will now turn its attention to the final, where the young team will be aiming to complete a perfect campaign and lift the continental title after an outstanding tournament in Alexandria
