Former Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has revealed that Nigerian teammates Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho often used what they called “juju cream” to treat injuries during their time at the club.
Speaking on a sports podcast, Vardy recalled that the duo would sometimes return from Nigeria with a tub of the cream, insisting that it was the only substance they wanted the club’s masseurs to apply to their injured areas.
According to Vardy, Ndidi and Iheanacho jokingly told their teammates that the cream came from a Nigerian “witch doctor.”
“Honestly, they used to get injured, just a little knock, go back to Nigeria.
One day they literally came back with a nice tub of juju cream, and that was the only thing that the masseurs were allowed to massage on the injured area.
They used to tell us it came from a Nigerian witch doctor,” Vardy said.
Vardy, Ndidi and Iheanacho were teammates at Leicester City and were part of the squad that won the FA Cup in 2021.
Neither Wilfred Ndidi nor Kelechi Iheanacho has publicly responded to Vardy’s comments, and it is unclear whether the remarks were made jokingly or literally.
