The Nigeria Police Force has arrested controversial TikTok personality and disc jockey Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, for threatening the life of the president’s son, Seyi Tinubu.
The arrest follows a viral video posted online where the entertainer claimed President Bola Tinubu would lose his re-election bid in 2027 and threatened violence if the outcome favored the president.
Rumors of the social media influencer’s detention began circulating widely across various online platforms shortly after the video sparked widespread outrage.
Content creator Tunde Perry later confirmed the arrest during a live stream broadcast on Thursday night, providing details surrounding the developing situation.
“DJ Chicken did a video that Tinubu can’t win the next election,” Perry stated during his broadcast to viewers tracking the incident.
Perry added that the threat was made despite Tinubu being a major contender, explaining: “And said even if Tinubu wins, he will kill Seyi Tinubu. The president and his son are not responsible for his arrest but those close to the presidency did.”
The suspect’s legal representative has since appealed to the public and presidency affiliates for leniency, claiming the entertainer is currently being held by authorities at the Ikeja command headquarters.
