The Kwara State Police Command has arrested Muhamodu Sanni, a suspect linked to a prominent kidnapping syndicate in Ilorin East Local Government Area.
According to a Wednesday statement by command spokesperson Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, Sanni was caught while attempting to withdraw ransom money.
The arrest stems from an investigation into an armed raid on Obudu village on July 28, 2026, where three residents were abducted.
Following the abduction, police operatives activated tactical units to track down the network supporting the kidnappers.
Investigators focused heavily on the financial, logistical, and communication channels surrounding the victims to trace those involved.
Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed that intelligence-led operations successfully penetrated the syndicate’s support system operating across the Obudu/Woru axis.
The command described Sanni’s apprehension as a major breakthrough in its ongoing offensive against kidnapping across the state.
