Former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has threatened to dump the Nigeria Democratic Congress after several of his faction’s candidates were replaced.
The party altered the list over an alleged breach of a 60–40 power-sharing pact signed by state chairman Hon. Hussaini Isah Mairiga.
This agreement was meant to fairly split elective tickets and party offices between the existing structure and Kwankwaso’s Kwankwasiyya bloc.
Top party figures received copies of the document, including National Leader Senator Seriake Dickson and the North-West Zonal Chairman.
Under the newly revised list, the NDC has already officially approved a fresh set of candidates for seven federal constituencies.
The party also implemented sweeping ticket adjustments across five key Kano State House of Assembly constituencies.
