Video: ISWAP ambush backfires as Nigerian troops neutralize 38 terrorists in Borno State

Troops from Operation HADIN KAI delivered a crushing blow to ISWAP insurgents during a fierce encounter in Borno State on Saturday morning.

The confrontation began when terrorists launched an attack on the FOB Mandaragirau, but they were quickly met with a “well-coordinated ambushes and a deliberate offensive-defensive response.”

Air support worked in perfect tandem with ground forces to hammer the attackers, turning their assault into a “disorderly withdrawal.”

As the insurgents fled toward the Timbuktu Triangle, pursuit teams followed the trails to ensure the threat was fully neutralized.

Military officials confirmed that “a total of about 38 terrorists were neutralized with 8 bodies recovered so far within the immediate engagement area.”

Local intelligence further corroborated the heavy toll, reporting “over 30 additional terrorists’ bodies and weapons strewn along the Garin Mallum–Garin Gajere axis.”

While one Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle was damaged by fire, the military proudly reported no fatalities among the courageous troops.

The successful operation has “triggered widespread jubilation among local communities” as the military continues to deny terrorists any freedom of action in the region.
