Coach Mohammed Magin of Niger Tornadoes has blamed his side’s defeat to Abia Warriors o profligacy.
The Ikon Allah fell to 2-1 defeat to their hosts in the Matchday 31 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL encounter decided in Umuahia on Monday.
Suraj Lawal and Casmir Azubuike scored in both halves for Abia Warriors while Joseph Godfrey’s late goal for Tornadoes was rendered a consolation.
Magin who was pleased with the overall performances of his players noted that the team would work on its conversion before next game.
“We played well and were in control of the game, we created several chances, especially in the first half, but couldn’t convert them.
“They had their chances too and took an early lead, we were not lucky. Even when we tried to come back after scoring late, time was no longer on our side,” Mohammed stated in a chat with the club’s media.
Tornadoes are now 13th on the log with 39 points from 31 games and will be taking on Wikki Tourists in their next fixture in Minna.
