Veteran actor, producer and film director Kunle Afolayan has signed a historic partnership with Benin Republic’s government-owned production company, Société de Productions Audiovisuelles (SOPA), to co-produce films, train aspiring filmmakers, and develop a world-class film city in Ouidah.
The collaboration aims to promote African cinema globally, training for young creatives in filmmaking and production, and showcase authentic African stories.
The partnership is expected to boost West Africa’s film industry, with plans to produce a large-scale Orisha/Vodun-themed television series.
Afolayan’s KAP Group will leverage its expertise and infrastructure, including KAP Motion Pictures, KAP Film & Television Academy, and KAP Film Village & Resort, to drive this initiative.
