Rear Admiral Musa Bello Katagum, the Chief of Operations at Naval Headquarters, has passed away after a brief illness in Egypt, where he was receiving medical treatment.
He had undergone surgery in September 2025 and was on follow-up medical evaluation when he died.
Katagum was a highly respected officer who served as Director of Naval Intelligence and Deputy Defence Adviser in Paris, France.
The Nigerian Navy has expressed profound sorrow over his passing, describing him as a symbol of courage, discipline, and dedication to service.
