No fewer than 68 passengers escaped unhurt after an Enugu Air aircraft crash-landed at the Benin Airport on Thursday.
The aircraft, bearing registration number 5N-ENR, was operating an Enugu–Benin–Lagos commercial flight when the incident occurred.
According to a source at the airport, the aircraft overshot the runway and veered into nearby bushes during landing.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN immediately responded to the scene and safely evacuated all passengers and crew.
No casualties or injuries have been reported.
The exact number of crew members on board has not yet been disclosed, while the cause of the incident is yet to be officially confirmed.
Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the runway excursion.
