Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh, wife of Teddy Don-Momoh, the widower of late gospel singer Kefee, has died barely two weeks after the birth of their first child together.
Her family announced the sad news in a statement shared on her official Instagram page on Monday, revealing that she passed away peacefully after a brief illness.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh. After a brief illness, Coach Lara passed away peacefully,” the statement read.
The family appealed for privacy as they grieve, while requesting prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul and strength for those mourning her loss.
They also stated that funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
Lara’s death comes just weeks after she and Teddy Don-Momoh welcomed their first child together, a joyful occasion that was widely celebrated by family, friends and well-wishers on social media.
Teddy Don-Momoh was previously married to renowned gospel singer Kefee, who died in June 2014 after battling a lung-related illness.
The family expressed appreciation to everyone who has shown love, support and prayers during this difficult period.
