Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command have arrested a prominent member of the “Ratel” movement, widely known as “Veryblackman of Port Harcourt” or the brother of media personality VeryDarkMan.
The suspect was taken into custody on Saturday following serious allegations that he threatened the life of reality TV star and comedian DeeOne.
The arrest was executed after the suspect reportedly failed to honor a formal invitation extended to him by the police regarding the ongoing investigation.
Following his detention in Rivers State, he was subsequently transported under police escort to Lagos on Sunday to face further questioning.
Reacting to the arrest on his Instagram page, DeeOne commended the authorities, writing, “Arrested and swift to Lagos! Next time you won’t threaten someone’s life. Kudos to the Nigerian Police for doing their job.”
The dispute traces back to June 2026, when Veryblackman allegedly issued a public death threat against DeeOne after the comedian publicly criticized VeryDarkMan.
The alarming threat triggered widespread outrage across social media, prompting public figures including Mario Wazobia, Broda Mike, and numerous online commentators to demand immediate police intervention.
