Nicki Minaj opens up about leaving church but keeping her faith

American rapper Nicki Minaj has opened up about her decision to stop attending church services, tracing it back to the exact moment her music career began to take off.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Bryce Crawford Podcast, the artist clarified that her absence from church was not caused by a shift in her personal beliefs or a change in ideology.

Instead, Minaj explained that her heavy touring and performance schedule on Friday and Saturday nights left her completely drained by the time the weekend ended.

“Once my career started taking off, I stopped going to church. I was working on Friday nights and Saturday nights, so the last thing I could do was wake up on Sunday mornings to go to church,” she said.

The rapper emphasized that while she no longer sits in the pews on Sunday mornings, she has maintained a close, active relationship with God.

She admitted during the interview that maintaining consistency in her spiritual life can be difficult, describing it as a regular struggle she has to navigate.

Despite those difficulties, Minaj noted that she constantly strives to improve and can feel her faith growing stronger as she continues to mature spiritually.
