Popular Nigerian streamer and content creator, Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has announced plans to host Nobel laureate Professor Wole Soyinka on his livestream.
Peller disclosed the plan during a livestream on Tuesday, promising viewers a session filled with “proper English” and “grammar.”
“I want to do a stream with Mr. Wole Soyinka. I will announce it soon and tell you guys what the plan is. It will be a proper English day on that day. You will hear some ‘grammar’ that day,” he said.
He added that further details about the proposed session would be announced at a later date.
The proposed collaboration has attracted attention because of the contrast between Peller’s humorous, informal streaming style and Soyinka’s reputation as one of Africa’s most distinguished literary figures.
Peller has built a large following through livestreams featuring spontaneous conversations, humour and interactions with celebrities and fellow content creators.
Soyinka, meanwhile, is a renowned Nigerian playwright, poet and novelist who became the first African to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1986.
The prospect of bringing the two personalities together has generated interest, with the anticipated session expected to offer viewers a different experience from Peller’s usual livestreams.
However, Peller did not announce a date for the proposed session, and it remains unclear whether Soyinka has accepted the invitation.
