Transfer News: Shooting Stars’ Ayobami Junior seals USM Kenchala move

3SC midfielder Ayobami Junior joins Algerian club USM Khenchela

Nigerian midfielder Ayobami Junior has completed a move to Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 side USM Khenchela from Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL club Shooting Stars.

The midfielder joined the Algerian club as a free agent after impressing the coaching staff during a successful trial.

He has already linked up with his new teammates and started training ahead of the 2026/27 season.

USM Khenchela will be hoping Ayobami brings creativity, energy, and dynamism to their midfield as they prepare for the new campaign.

Ayobami has built a solid reputation in the NPFL, having previously featured for Kano Pillars and Kwara United before his stint with Shooting Stars.

His consistent performances also earned him a call-up to the Super Eagles squad for the Unity Cup in May, where he featured in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe.

The move marks the first overseas transfer of the midfielder’s career, offering him an opportunity to showcase his talent in North African football while helping USM Khenchela strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
