Dele Momodu has revealed that efforts are ongoing behind the scenes to amicably resolve the child custody dispute between Afrobeats star Davido and his cousin, Sophia Momodu.
@DeleMomodu, publisher of Ovation magazine, assured the public that family members are actively involved in seeking a peaceful settlement over the custody of Imade Adeleke, the daughter Davido shares with Sophia.
In 2024, Davido approached a Lagos High Court, filing a motion requesting unrestricted access to his daughter. In response, Sophia maintained that she had never denied the singer access to the child, countering claims that she was preventing him from fulfilling his parental responsibilities.
Momodu’s comments suggest that despite the legal proceedings, both sides may be open to dialogue, with family intervention aimed at reaching a resolution in the best interest of the child.

“Here in Liberia, @davido is treated as the god of music. I’ve been visiting here for over two decades but this visit is different. I came to commiserate with my friend and Sister, former Vice President H.E DR JEWEL HOWARD-TAYLOR on the passing of her only child, CHARLES PHILIP NEILSON TAYLOR JR,” he wrote.
“Since landing here, I have been inundated with messages from fans of David, and ladies who love @thesophiamomodu to bits… One of them is this ‘fashion designer’ @lorine doe who said I should step in and settle the ‘quarrels’
